Simple Steps to Reduce Your Carbon Footprint

Lots of folks ask the same question: “What can I do to reduce my carbon footprint and really make a difference?”

Many, like Scott, are moving to electric vehicles, and others are biking to work like Eric. So many options big and small. Do what you can!

We read hundreds of hints and tips, surveyed our greenest members, and worked out what really makes a difference.  We took out all the distractions and put the very best ideas into a few simple and powerful checklists for you to use.  Using them will reduce your environmental impact in the home and outside, save you money, increase your understanding, and grow your voice for sustainability.

The Checklists
There are three checklists of increasing effort and impact:  Sapling, Tree, and Redwood, and a separate one for the kids.
You may have already taken some or all of the actions on the first checklist, PLEASE still complete it and let us know.  Every completed checklist lets others know that you’re out there, and builds your voice for sustainability in the Town.  The later checklists have actions for the most committed.  Novice or expert, every action makes a difference.

What To Do

  1. Download the first checklist above.
  2. Check off the actions you’ve already taken – you may be further ahead than you thought.
  3. Get busy!  Every checklist has notes to help you – you can print double sided to get a single sheet.
  4. For help and advice on completing these checklists or to offer your ideas, send an email us.  We really do look forward to hearing from you! – we read all emails and respond.
  5. When you’ve finished all the actions on Sapling email us.  We will add your name to the list of achievers and help you to get started on the next level.
  6. Then come to a Sustainable Wellesley event with your completed checklist and we will turn it into your first Certificate!
