Meet our newest Sustainable Wellesley Leadership Team member Berry Witek.
Berry is a passionate sustainability advocate with a diverse global background in footwear and apparel innovation. Throughout his career, he has devoted himself to advancing sustainable initiatives at renowned brands such as Adidas, Reebok, and ASICS, with a key emphasis on understanding consumer needs to create impactful, profitable, and eco-conscious product ranges.
During his tenure as the Head of Lifestyle Product at Reebok he played a crucial role in pioneering sustainability initiatives, notably the "Corn & Cotton" project. In his subsequent role at ASICS, where he led the global footwear product team, their unwavering commitment to sustainable practices not only resonated with consumers but also earned them the esteemed Hypebeast's "Best Footwear Brand" award in both 2022 and 2023.
Berry’s dedication to sustainability has been influenced by calling various corners of the world home including Hong Kong, Melbourne, Australia, and Herzogenaurach, Germany. After rooting himself now in Wellesley with his wife and son, he is eager to blend his international insights with sustainable practices to contribute to a more eco-conscious and vibrant local environment.
Recently, Berry has taken a specific focus on addressing gas leaks and helping Wellesley transition away from natural gas. Advocating for the Future of Clean Heat Act is high on Berry’s priorities.
Thanks Berry for your energy and insights and we look forward to our journey together toward a more sustainable, and healthier future.
