As you may know, we are in the midst of Plastic Free July.
Plastic Free July is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution – so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities. You can be part of Plastic Free July by choosing to refuse single-use plastics. Start with one thing a day and build from there.
One way to reduce plastic usage is to bring your own bags and containers to farmers markets and to local refill stores including Fulfilled Goods in Newton. Fulfilled Goods is the area's first and only low-waste grocery and refillery. At the store you will find a wide selection of bulk dry goods (herbs/spices, coffees/teas, dried fruits & nuts, grains, beans, pastas, oils/vinegars, etc.). In addition there is a refill bar with personal care items (shampoo/conditioner, shower gel, lotion, face wash & moisturizer, hand soap, etc) and cleaning products (laundry, dish, Castile soap, all-purpose, toilet cleaner, etc.). You can bring your own containers to fill up (or down); the beauty is you can buy as much or as little as you want.
Fulfilled Goods is extend a Plastic Free July offer of $5 off a purchase of $25 or more to folks reading this Sustainable Wellesley newsletter. No code needed...just need to mention the offer at checkout and indicate you read about it here.
Swing by the welcoming, judgement-free zone store as you start or continue your journey to reduce unnecessary packaging and plastic. Please note their summer hours: Tue/Thu 3-7, Wed/Fri 12-6, Sat 10-2, Closed Sun/Mon.
