Get Ready To BiD! Sneak Peeks OF 2 STUNNING, INSPIRING WORKS BY LOCAL ARTISTS From Our UPCOMING Earth Month Art Auction
Ready to fill that bare wall with an inspiring work of art, or replace a dusty old photo with something original to add some style indoors? Sustainable Wellesley (SW) has the answer. Mark your calendars for April 13 & 14 to start bidding on works by local artists Anne Newman and Carrie Megan during SW’s first Earth Month Art Auction. But act fast, each auction will be just 24 hours.
The first piece to be auctioned is a 6” x 6” mixed media paintings series by Carrie Megan (@carriemeganart on Instagram) entitled, World View #1, #2, #3, which will be offered on Wednesday, April 13, starting at 7 a.m. with an opening bid of $300 for the series.
“The three mixed media pieces were created to illustrate global connection and the impact war and climate change have on the planet as a whole,” Megan said.
The next day, on Thursday, April 14, again starting at 7 a.m., a unique piece by Annie Newman (@annie_newman_art on Instagram) will be sold at auction. “Greta IV,” oil on wood panel, 24” x 24” will start with a bidding price at $200.
“Greta Thunberg, a 16-year-old girl, iconic climate activist and an Instagram sensation, captured my heart,” said Anne Newman. “I started following her and painting her. Auctioning this off to raise money for an action oriented local environmental organization seems like the right fit,” Newman said.
