The orange on this map represents every town or city in MA that has adopted the stretch code - over 2/3 of the state.
According to the most recent report of the Sustainable Energy Committee, 53% of Wellesley’s carbon emissions come from buildings, through inefficient design and construction. But our town’s green building requirements can’t exceed those of the state’s “stretch code” and, right now, that “stretch code” is in bad need of updating.
Advocates of a Net Zero Stretch Code are urged to either write or attend the next meeting of the BBRS on this issue.
