The elephant in the room… I know, I know… So many meaningful charities, why raise money for sustainability …maybe science will solve climate change, or it’s a government problem, or maybe you don’t live in Wellesley… All of these points make for interesting discussion, but the bottom line is that most of us spend thousands each year on energy and products. As a result, our style of living has fiscal, political and environmental costs, and we don’t have to wait for others to solve our problems.
Solutions: Community, State and National goals are well aligned. Achieving 50% reduction in the next 8 years is daunting and only achievable if we work together. Years ago emission reduction was difficult and expensive. Now, many of us can reduce emissions 50%-80% cost effectively. Sustainable Wellesley specializes in community outreach for that purpose.
My big Ask: Donate the cost to fill one tank of gas to Sustainable Wellesley. In return, I will run the Boston Marathon AND, if you are interested, I will hook you up with energy-saving tips to provide a positive return on your investment… without adversely impacting your lifestyle.

Why I love climate change: I cause it, so I can stop it. So many health and human tragedies seem intractable, but Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions are relatively easy to measure and manage. Over the years my family has made a game of GHG emissions reduction, ok, maybe it has been more of an obsession. Along the way we were able to reduce emissions 80% while saving thousands of dollars on energy each year. An important benefit is reduced direct and indirect support of hostile petrodollar funded nations!
Thanks for your support!!
